Ballyvolane has become synonymous with house parties in recent years. Entertain friends, family or business colleagues this winter in grand style and host your own private house party. Celebrate a special occasion, birthday or event by taking over the entire house and grounds for a couple of nights of fun, fine food and delicious drink. Barefoot or ball gowns, make the party as relaxed or as formal as you like. We can plan all sorts of activities during the day.
With
only 6 bedrooms, the house sleeps 12 and we have some extra
beds and cots if needed. There is also a self-catering cottage,

GUIDED
WALKS IN THE KNOCKMEALDOWN & GALTEE MOUNTAINS
Marvel
at some of Ireland’s most beautiful and unspoiled
scenery from the top of Galtymor, in the Galtees. Hike up
the Vee in the Knockmealdown Mountains. Explore a deserted
village at the source of the Araglin river. Ballyvolane offers
professional guiding services on an extensive range of mountain
hikes and low-level scenic routes to suit all levels of fitness
and experience. Expert guide Michael Crowley has years of
guiding experience and has an unsurpassed knowledge of the
history and heritage of the local area. Head out for your
guided walk after breakfast the next morning and after the
days’ hike, enjoy a long relaxing soak in the bath
followed by a delicious 4-course dinner and superb wines
in the grand dining room. Have a lie-in and enjoy a late

GUIDED
CANOE TRIPS ON THE RIVER BLACKWATER
Explore
the lower stretches of the beautiful river Blackwater in
an open canoe with Denis Murray, founder and owner of Blackwater
Boating. Denis is from Cappoquin and his personal knowledge
of the river and its surrounds is unrivalled. The canoe trips
can be tailored to both young and old and to all levels of
fitness. Steeped in history, the lower stretch of the river
Blackwater is stunningly beautiful and totally unspoiled.
Many magnificent stately homes and castles flank the river
and there is abundant wildlife on the river to enjoy. Full
safety instruction and equipment is provided and the duration
of the trip is four to five hours. Head out on the river
in your canoe after breakfast the next morning and a picnic
lunch will be provided. When you get back to Ballyvolane
House, stretch out in the bath that evening and after your
soak, feast on delicious food and wines in the dining room.
Enjoy a late breakfast the next morning, which is served
anytime until noon.
